About the Role
Position Overview:
iMerit is looking for proficient bilingual Afrikaans and English speakers to join our team as Gen AI Data Annotation Analysts. In this role, analysts will perform data annotations across multiple modalities—including text and image—to deliver high-quality datasets essential for training and refining cutting-edge Generative AI models.
Responsibilities
Annotate high-quality training data across Text, Audio Transcripts, and Images while strictly adhering to project guidelines
Generate accurate data annotations according to project requirements
Apply critical thinking and logical decision-making when handling ambiguous data scenarios
Handle PII data responsibly, including content that may contain NSFW material
Proactively identify and report annotation tool issues, bugs, or potential improvements
Collaborate with Language Leads, Project Managers, and technical teams to ensure annotation tasks meet quality standards
Requirements
Bachelor's degree/ diploma or equivalent educational qualification
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in annotation tasks, linguistic data handling, or related AI/ML projects
Demonstrated experience working with data annotation tools and software platforms
Strong understanding of language nuances, including grammar, style, and cultural context
Ability to adapt quickly to changing project directions and fast-paced work environments
Previous experience creating or annotating complex data specifically for Large Language Model (LLM) training
Familiarity with annotation projects involving sensitive or nuanced content
Prior exposure to Generative AI technologies and principles
Pay Rate: 8
