SAME JOB · THREE TONES

One click. Three voices. Pick yours.

The AI returns all three from a single generation — formal for traditional roles, conversational for modern tech, impact-led for high-volume hiring queues. Pick the tone that sounds like you.

Software Engineer · Lattice Staff role Same opening hook in three voices.

Formal

Polished, conservative phrasing — still specific and outcome-led, never the generic "I am writing to express my interest" opener. Default for finance, law, consulting, and government roles.

The Staff Software Engineer role at Lattice aligns directly with three years of latency-engineering work I led at Shopify, and I would welcome the opportunity to bring that experience to your team.

At Shopify I owned the Shop Pay checkout latency budget across 240k merchant stores. The work I am most proud of was a server-side rendering rewrite that lifted global conversion 3.2% (approximately $180M in attributed gross merchandise value), executed with zero customer-facing downtime over a six-week cutover. Prior to Shopify, I led Stripe's PSD2 SCA compliance implementation — the work that made Stripe the first major payments processor to be SCA-compliant in the EU.

I would welcome the opportunity to discuss the role in greater detail at your convenience.

Conversational

Warm, direct, recognisably human. Best fit for product-led startups, agencies, and most modern tech companies.

Lattice's "ship one thing every two weeks" engineering culture is the reason I read your job posting twice — and the reason I'm writing.

For the past three years at Shopify I owned Shop Pay's checkout latency budget. The piece I'm proudest of: a server-side rendering rewrite that lifted global conversion 3.2% (~$180M attributed GMV uplift) and shipped with zero merchant-facing downtime across 240k stores. Your latency post-mortems read like ours did at Shopify — measured, blameless, focused on the system. That's the engineering culture I want to keep working in.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Impact

Outcome-led, numbers-forward, no throat-clearing. Cuts through high-volume hiring queues at scale-stage companies.

Three years owning Shop Pay's latency at Shopify. 3.2% global conversion uplift. $180M attributed GMV. Zero merchant-facing downtime across 240k stores.

I want to do the same thing at Lattice. The Staff Engineer posting hits every lever I've moved before — distributed-systems work, mentorship of mid-level engineers (two of mine promoted to senior in 12 months), and an engineering culture that ships measurably. Before Shopify, I built Stripe's SCA compliance layer six months ahead of the EU PSD2 deadline. The pattern: hard deadlines, real outcomes, and a track record of shipping production code on day one of every job I've held since 2017.

TAILORED FOR EVERY CAREER

Real letters, real careers.

Click any card to read the full letter. These are illustrative samples — your output reflects your actual resume + the job you paste.

FROM GENERIC TO TAILORED

The opening line is the only line that matters.

Recruiters skim. Your first sentence either earns the second or it doesn't. The AI rewrites generic openings into specific signals — about you, about the company, about why this match.

GENERIC

I am writing to apply for the Senior Engineer position I saw on your careers page.

AI · TAILORED

Lattice's engineering blog post on per-tenant Kafka partitioning is the cleanest writeup of multi-region event-pipeline design I've read this year — and exactly the work I shipped at Shopify before the recent re-org sent me looking.

GENERIC

I have over 7 years of experience in product design and would love the opportunity to join Linear.

AI · TAILORED

I've been a Linear customer since the cycles feature shipped, and the redesign you rolled out in March is the kind of measured, opinionated work I want to spend the next chapter of my career making.

GENERIC

Please consider my application for the Marketing Manager role at your company.

AI · TAILORED

Webflow's EU partner programme has been one of the better-executed B2B SaaS launches I've watched land this year, and the reason I read your demand-gen JD three times before clicking apply.

HOW IT WORKS

Three steps. Ten seconds.

01

Pick your resume

The AI uses your real experience as the source — no generic templates. The cover letter's visual template auto-matches the resume.

02

Paste or pick a job

Pick from our remote-jobs board or paste a JD from anywhere. Optionally name the hiring manager + add a one-line "what to emphasise" note.

03

Three variants, instant

Formal, conversational, impact-led — all generated in one pass. Pick one, polish it, export PDF or DOCX.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Everything else, briefly.

  • Is the cover letter generator really free?
Your first generation is free — three tone variants, full PDF/DOCX export, no card on file. RemoWork Pro removes the cap so you can tailor a fresh letter for every application without limits.
  • How is this different from pasting the job into ChatGPT?
The generator uses your actual resume — your phrasing, tools, dates, and quantified outcomes — as the source. ChatGPT has to reverse-engineer your background from whatever context you paste; this tool already has it. You also get three tones in one click instead of asking for rewrites, plus a recruiter-tested visual template that matches your resume.
  • How long should a cover letter actually be?
For 95% of remote roles: one page, three short paragraphs, around 220-280 words. The generator targets that length by default. Recruiters skim — your opening sentence and your closing line do most of the work.
  • What's the "hiring manager's first sentence test"?
Your opening line either earns the second sentence or it doesn't. "I am writing to apply for the Senior Engineer position" earns nothing. A specific signal — about the company, the role, or yourself — earns the read. The Impact tone variant lives or dies on this test.
  • Can I edit after generation?
Always. Every paragraph in every tone is fully editable in the in-browser editor. Switch tones any time, change the accent colour, swap the template — your letter stays saved in your account so you can come back to it.
  • What file formats can I export?
PDF and DOCX. PDF is the right format for most ATS uploads (it preserves the visual template). DOCX is useful when a recruiter explicitly asks for an editable version, or when you want to do a final pass in Word/Pages before sending.
  • Do I need a resume to use it?
Yes — the generator needs a saved resume to pull your background from. If you don't have one yet, the free Resume Builder takes about ten minutes; from there the cover letter is two more clicks.
  • How does the AI choose what to highlight?
It cross-references the job description against your resume's experience, skills, and quantified outcomes — and surfaces the strongest 2-3 matches in each paragraph. The optional "what to emphasise" note steers the prioritisation if there's a specific angle you want lead-billed.
