Data Labeling Analyst III

Overview

We are looking for an experienced video direction generalist, who has either directed or others or produced their own work, and who can articulate why one piece of footage or narration lands and another does not. In this contract engagement you will help define how multimedia quality is evaluated. This is a fully remote engagement.

What You'll Do
Quality Frameworks & Standards: Partner with program managers and researchers to break broad multimedia qualities down into observable dimensions, and author the guidelines and rubrics used to grade model outputs.
Data Annotations: Labeling/auditing a set amount of multimedia data daily, at the direction of Project Coordinators and Project Managers
Navigating subjective criteria: Comprehending complex guidelines and product requirements to accurately label ML video data to refine AI models
Quality Assurance & Iteration: Review completed work against the standards you set and refine the framework as the work scales.
Collaboration: Work alongside program managers, researchers, and domain experts on partner teams.

What Would Make You A Great Fit
Experience: 3+ years in video editing, particularly video content creation for short-form video platforms, with substantial time spent directly involved in production. Bachelor's degree or industry-recognized credentials in film, advertising, media production, or a related field; equivalent professional experience is equally welcome.
Generalist Craft: You have directed and/or produced your own video work, and can speak to the whole pipeline rather than one station in it.
Production Environment: Professional experience inside a studio setting, a content creation agency, or short-form video production house.
Expertise in the following areas:
Directing and performance / on-camera direction
Cinematography, lighting, and shot composition
Editing, pacing, and structure
Narration, voiceover direction, and audio quality
Storytelling, narrative construction and emotional arc
Content development, evaluation, and acquisition

Preferred skills:
Discerning: You can distinguish subtle differences in production and narration quality, and explain the distinction in words someone without your background can apply.
Strong Communicator: Teaching, mentoring, or crew-training experience is a strong signal.
Analytical: Able to turn judgment into repeatable criteria.
Adaptable: Comfortable with evolving requirements and with revising your own work as evidence comes in.

What We Offer
Fully remote work, collaborating with researchers and program managers across time zones.
Initial commitment of approximately 3 months, with potential to extend based on project needs and performance.
Full-time engagement at approximately 40 hrs/week.

The pay range that Tundra in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $20.34/hour - $25.43/hour.
