AI Prompt Engineer Contractor · Part-time
Remote (Global) $40 – $60/hr May 27, 2026

Job description

AI / Emerging Tech Security Analyst (AI Training)

About the Role

What if your security expertise could directly shape how the world's most advanced AI systems defend themselves against attack? We're looking for AI / Emerging Tech Security Analysts to probe, evaluate, and stress-test cutting-edge AI models — identifying the vulnerabilities, misuse vectors, and adversarial scenarios that could compromise real-world AI deployments.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for security professionals who are curious about how modern AI systems fail — and how to make them stronger.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze AI and LLM security scenarios to understand how models behave under adversarial, edge-case, or unexpected conditions
  • Review and evaluate cases involving prompt injection, data leakage, model abuse, jailbreaking, and system misuse
  • Classify security issues by real-world impact and likelihood, and recommend appropriate mitigations
  • Apply threat modeling frameworks to emerging AI technologies and novel attack surfaces
  • Help evaluate and improve AI system behavior so it remains safe, reliable, and aligned with security best practices
  • Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Background in cybersecurity, information security, or a closely related field
  • Solid understanding of threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, and risk classification
  • Genuinely curious about how AI systems are built, deployed, and potentially exploited
  • Analytical and precise — you think in edge cases and know how to document findings clearly
  • Comfortable working independently on complex, open-ended security problems

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with penetration testing, red teaming, or adversarial research
  • Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, or AI safety concepts
  • Background in application security, API security, or ML infrastructure
  • Experience evaluating or auditing AI/ML systems in production environments
  • Prior work in emerging technology risk, AI governance, or responsible AI frameworks

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside leading research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, impactful work
  • Contribute to AI safety research that has real consequences for how AI is deployed in the world
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
