Product Marketing Manager III

Meta

Product Marketing Manager Contractor
United States $81.23 – $101.54/hr October 16, 2026

Job description

Meta Reality Labs is seeking a contract Product Marketing Manager to support Horizon, Meta's social gaming platform where people create and play together. This role sits on the Horizon product marketing team and covers a parental-leave absence across the creator tools.
This is a broad individual-contributor role spanning several product areas at once. You will be the product marketing voice for the tools creators use to build (assets, characters etc) and monetize their games, for the retention features that keep players coming back, and for the advertising and promotional tools creators use to grow their audience. The through-line is adoption and earnings: helping creators build a real business on the platform, and proving it with data.
Responsibilities:
Own positioning and go-to-market for creator monetization tools, connecting item creation, catalog and pricing management, and creator-facing insights into one coherent "build, sell, earn" narrative rather than a series of feature launches
Serve as the single product marketing point of contact for the retention and engagement toolkit, covering player and world state, leaderboards, quests and streaks, activity mechanics, and live-operations configuration, and drive creator adoption of those capabilities
Own creator advertising go-to-market: build the creator-facing case for promoting their games across Meta's family of apps, package return-on-ad-spend proof points into case studies, and shape the self-serve onboarding narrative
Own go-to-market for promotional assets that give creators trailers and imagery for their games, including the creative model that keeps creators in control of the final output
Own creator-facing positioning for new character creation tooling, and drive adoption among semi-professional and professional creators who rely on external three-dimensional tools today
Build the creative and surface strategy that determines what promotional content works where, across in-app discovery feeds, short-form video, and social surfaces
Design and run experiments with data science and user experience research that tie creator tool adoption to measurable retention and revenue outcomes, and turn results into creator guidance
Advance the team's ways of working with new technology: pilot new marketing workflows for competitive monitoring, experiment analysis, and creator insight synthesis, and document what works
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in product marketing, product or growth strategy, or analytical marketing roles
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a similar discipline
Demonstrated experience marketing technical tools to a creator, developer, or professional builder audience, owning positioning and adoption end to end
Experience owning a performance or growth marketing surface with quantitative accountability, such as return on ad spend, conversion, or retention
Experience partnering cross-functionally with product management, engineering, data science, design, user experience research, and legal and privacy to ship product changes and improve funnels
Track record of owning ambiguous work end to end across several product areas simultaneously, from insight through strategy, execution, and measurement
Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to create clear narratives and simple plans from technical and quantitative inputs

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with creator monetization, in-app purchase or virtual goods economies, marketplace pricing, or two-sided marketplace dynamics
Experience marketing social, gaming, user-generated-content, or virtual-world products on mobile platforms
Experience with retention and live-operations mechanics such as quests, streaks, leaderboards, or seasonal content, and the ability to translate them into creator guidance
Hands-on performance marketing experience, including creative testing and attribution analysis
Demonstrated ability to integrate new technology to redesign workflows and drive measurable impact, plus a track record of continuing to build new skills as tooling evolves
Experience working on new or emerging products, ideally new creation tools for a creator or consumer audience
Comfort working directly in data, including querying, dashboards, and experiment readouts, without waiting on an analyst

Key Projects/Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Creator monetization tools: own positioning and launch go-to-market for item creation, catalog and pricing management, and creator-facing economy insights, framed as a single toolkit for building a business rather than a set of features.
Retention and engagement toolkit: act as the single product marketing point of contact across player and world state, leaderboards, quests and streaks, activity mechanics, and live-operations configuration, and drive creator adoption through targeted communications, best-practice content, and success stories.
Creator advertising: own the creator-facing narrative for promoting games across Meta's family of apps, package return-on-ad-spend results into creator case studies, build the creative playbook, and shape self-serve onboarding.
New promotional asset tooling: own go-to-market for automatically generated game trailers and imagery, including the creative-control model and the surface-by-surface creative strategy.
Character creation tooling: own creator-facing positioning for new character creation tooling and drive adoption among semi-professional and professional creators.
Creator and market intelligence: maintain the catalog and competitive intelligence program that gives the wider team a current read on what is selling, what is being built, and what competitors are shipping.

Must haves
Technical tool marketing to builders. Has personally owned positioning and adoption for tools used by creators, developers, or professional builders, including the enablement content that gets them productive. Consumer-campaign-only backgrounds will not work here.
Quantitative ownership. Comfortable owning a number, whether return on ad spend, conversion, retention, or creator earnings, and able to work directly in data and experiment readouts to defend a recommendation without waiting on an analyst.
Independent prioritization across a wide portfolio. Can hold several product areas at once, decide what matters, decline what does not, and keep a coherent narrative across all of it with minimal direction.

Nice to haves
Creator economy or virtual goods experience, including in-app purchase economies, marketplace pricing, payouts, or two-sided marketplace dynamics.
Gaming, social, or user-generated-content product marketing on mobile, including familiarity with retention and live-operations mechanics such as quests, streaks, leaderboards, and seasonal content.
Hands-on performance marketing and new technology fluency, including creative testing and attribution, plus demonstrated use of new tooling to redesign their own workflows.

Experience/Education
III- 5-7 years (5 or more years). Minimum 5 years in product marketing, product or growth strategy, or analytical marketing roles.
Of that, at least 3 years marketing technical tools or platforms to a creator, developer, or professional builder audience, and at least 2 years with direct quantitative accountability for a growth, monetization, or retention metric.
Prior experience in a matrixed organization with many cross-functional partners is required. Agency-only experience is unlikely to be sufficient on its own.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a similar discipline. No certifications required.
Equivalent practical experience will be considered in place of the specific degree field.
