Job description
Legal Expert: AI Legal Reasoning Review (Policy & Regulatory Focus)
About the Role
What if you could use your legal expertise to make AI systems reason more like a good lawyer?
We're looking for experienced US legal professionals in the Washington, DC area — including those with regulatory, policy, government, and administrative law backgrounds — to review AI-generated legal analysis, judge whether it holds up, and correct it where it doesn't. You'll assess answers on tasks like contract and case analysis, flag flawed reasoning, and explain your judgment clearly in writing.
Your expertise will help determine whether AI models can reach the conclusions a careful, experienced attorney would reach — and where they fall short.
This is a remote, hourly contract opportunity for US-based professionals who want to apply their legal knowledge to an emerging area of AI development.
Position Details
Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote (US-based, must be legally eligible to work in the US) Commitment: Typically 25–35 hours per week, based on project demand Engagement: Work is dynamic. Volume follows project demand and may pause or end at any time without notice.
What You'll Do
Evaluate AI-Generated Legal Analysis
Review AI responses to legal questions and tasks, including contract and case analysis. Assess whether the reasoning is sound, the conclusions are supported, and the answer is complete.
Identify and Correct Errors
Spot inaccuracies, flawed logic, missing considerations, and unsupported conclusions. Write corrected answers that reflect how an experienced attorney would approach the problem.
Provide Clear Written Explanations
Explain what is wrong, why it matters, and how to fix it — with the clarity and precision you would bring to a client memo or policy brief.
