Program Manager Contractor
United States $39 – $44.50/hr October 23, 2026

Job description

Producer (Contract)

Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager or Producer to join a fast-paced Engineering Systems team supporting one of the world's most beloved gaming franchises. In this role, you will serve as the operational backbone of a high-performing engineering team — facilitating sprint ceremonies, managing delivery schedules, tracking team velocity, and ensuring that builds, tests, and engineering systems run smoothly for developers. You will act as a critical bridge between creative artists, programmers, QA, and executive stakeholders, keeping cross-functional work aligned and moving forward with clarity and precision. This is a fully remote, 18-month contract engagement operating on Pacific Standard Time hours.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate sprint ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, triage sessions, office hours, and retrospectives — both live and asynchronously
  • Create and maintain sprint and milestone dashboards, calendars, trackers, and transition checklists
  • Own feature delivery schedules and work item assignments, ensuring accurate tracking and timely updates
  • Create user story stubs, tasks, and bugs in collaboration with leads and PMs; scrub the backlog and clear stale work
  • Prepare meeting invites, agendas, pre-reads, and status questions; update work items with decisions, owners, status, and next steps
  • Maintain action logs, reminders, and workflows; proactively follow up on blocked or at-risk work
  • Identify, escalate, and manage risks, dependencies, and blockers while maintaining up-to-date documentation in ADO
  • Represent features or workstreams in release forums alongside leads and PMs
  • Review release queries, clear stale work, update fields, and confirm next actions
  • Consolidate changelog review posts, track feedback and open items, and confirm follow-up with feature owners
  • Partner with QA to coordinate validation and test plans, reproductions, regression tracking, and release dependencies
  • Track critical-path work, validation dependencies, readiness signals, release risks, and unresolved bugs
  • Coordinate dependencies, partner commitments, and technical initiatives across teams; escalate decisions when needed

Requirements:

  • 5–7 years of experience in technical program management, production, product management, data analysis, or product development

  • 4–7 years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects in a technical environment

  • Prior experience as a Producer or TPM within a gaming studio is strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated track record of stable, long-term tenure in previous roles with consistent delivery outcomes

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered

  • Agile or Scrum certification (e.g., CSM, SAFe, PMP) is a plus

  • Deep familiarity with project management and collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, or Confluence for task tracking, sprint planning, and pipeline documentation

  • Strong working knowledge of Agile and Scrum frameworks, including managing team velocity, capacity planning, and milestone delivery

  • Proven ability to bridge communication gaps between creative, technical, and executive stakeholders

  • Capacity to motivate cross-functional teams and resolve conflicts effectively under tight deadlines

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, priorities, and dependencies simultaneously

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing agendas, status updates, and documentation

  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and thrive in a fast-evolving, dynamic environment

  • Experience coordinating release processes, QA validation cycles, and cross-team technical initiatives
