Vulnerability Management Analyst
Job description
Vulnerability Management Analyst (AI Training)
About the Role
We're looking for experienced security professionals to help train and evaluate frontier AI systems using real-world vulnerability management expertise. At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research teams to build smarter, safer AI — and your hands-on knowledge of how security teams actually discover, prioritize, and remediate risk is exactly what we need.
This is a unique opportunity to shape how AI reasons about cybersecurity, without leaving your area of expertise.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Analyze vulnerability reports, CVEs, and real-world exposure scenarios across infrastructure and applications
- Classify severity, exploitability, impact, and recommend appropriate remediation strategies
- Review and evaluate patching, mitigation, and risk prioritization decision-making scenarios
- Generate, label, and validate realistic security-reasoning data used to train and benchmark AI systems
- Apply your practical knowledge of what actually matters in production environments — not just theoretical risk scores
Who You Are
- 2+ years of experience in vulnerability management, security operations, or infrastructure security
- Solid understanding of CVEs, vulnerability scanners, patching workflows, and risk prioritization frameworks
- Able to clearly articulate the tradeoffs between theoretical risk and real-world exploitability
- A structured, analytical thinker who communicates complex security concepts with clarity
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on asynchronous, task-based assignments
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with frameworks like CVSS, EPSS, or CISA KEV
- Experience with tools such as Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7, or Wiz
- Background in DevSecOps, cloud security, or enterprise patch management
- Prior experience contributing to security documentation, playbooks, or training materials
Why Join Us
- Work directly on cutting-edge AI projects with top research labs and AI teams
- Fully remote and flexible — complete tasks on your own schedule
- Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
- Apply your real-world security expertise in a meaningful new way
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
