Growth & Community Manager
Job description
Growth & Community Manager
About the Role
What if your ability to spark conversations, build genuine connections, and grow engaged audiences could directly shape the trajectory of an ambitious company? We're looking for a Growth & Community Manager to own the strategy and execution behind community building, audience growth, and user engagement — turning casual followers into passionate advocates.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role perfect for someone who lives and breathes online communities, understands what makes people click, share, and come back, and knows how to turn engagement into measurable growth. If you've ever built something from scratch — a Discord server, a newsletter, a brand's social presence — and watched it take off, this role was made for you.
- Type: Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 15–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute community growth strategies across platforms — Discord, Slack, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Reddit, and beyond
- Create, curate, and schedule engaging content that drives conversation and attracts new community members
- Monitor community channels daily, respond to members, moderate discussions, and foster a welcoming, high-energy environment
- Identify and engage with influencers, power users, and brand advocates to amplify reach organically
- Design and run campaigns, challenges, AMAs, events, and initiatives that boost engagement and retention
- Track and analyze key growth and engagement metrics — then use data to iterate and improve
- Collaborate with product, marketing, and leadership teams to align community efforts with business goals
- Stay ahead of platform trends, algorithm changes, and emerging growth tactics
- Build feedback loops between the community and the product team — surfacing insights, feature requests, and sentiment
Who You Are
- A natural community builder — you genuinely enjoy connecting with people online and sparking conversation
- Experienced in growing online communities, social media audiences, or user bases from the ground up
- Strong written communicator with an authentic, engaging voice that adapts across platforms and audiences
- Data-informed — you track what matters and let metrics guide your decisions
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and reliable when working independently
- Comfortable juggling multiple platforms, tools, and conversations simultaneously
- Creative and resourceful — you can generate buzz without a big budget
- Fluent in the culture and norms of major social and community platforms
Nice to Have
- Experience managing communities for startups, tech companies, or creator-driven brands
- Familiarity with community tools like Discord, Circle, Slack, Telegram, or similar
- Background in social media marketing, content marketing, or growth hacking
- Experience with analytics tools — Google Analytics, social dashboards, CRM platforms
- Knowledge of SEO, email marketing, or referral program design
- Interest in AI, Web3, SaaS, or other fast-moving tech spaces
Why Join Us
- Play a high-impact role at the intersection of growth, brand, and community
- Fully remote and flexible — work when and where you do your best thinking
- Freelance autonomy with meaningful, visible work that directly drives results
- Collaborate with a sharp, mission-driven team building something people care about
- Shape the voice and culture of a growing community from the ground floor
- Ongoing contract potential as the community — and your role — scales
