Job description

Software Engineer – Frontend (AI Training Contract)

About the Role

Frontend developers: your skills are in high demand — not for a product sprint, but to help train the next generation of AI. We're looking for experienced frontend engineers to evaluate, write, and refine high-quality UI coding problems and solutions that directly improve how AI models understand and generate frontend code.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract engagement. Work asynchronously on your own schedule, and make a real impact on the AI systems used by leading research labs and enterprise teams worldwide.

What You'll Do

  • Review and evaluate AI-generated frontend code (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) for correctness, efficiency, accessibility, and best practices
  • Write high-quality frontend solutions to UI and web development challenges across a range of difficulty levels
  • Craft clear, well-reasoned explanations for design decisions, code logic, and problem-solving approaches
  • Identify edge cases, ambiguities, or errors in problem statements and AI-generated responses
  • Help set the standard for what great frontend code looks like — for both humans and AI

Who You Are

  • Fluent in English with strong written communication skills — you can explain complex frontend concepts clearly and concisely
  • Deep expertise in JavaScript, including async/await, closures, DOM manipulation, ES6+ syntax, and browser APIs
  • Experienced with modern frontend frameworks and tools such as React, Vue, or Angular
  • 3+ years of hands-on frontend or web development experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree (or in progress) in Computer Science or a related field — Master's or PhD is a plus, but not required
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working independently without close supervision

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and performance optimization techniques
  • Experience with state management libraries (Redux, Zustand, Pinia, etc.)
  • Prior work on data labeling, RLHF, or AI model training projects

Why This Role

  • High impact — your expertise directly influences AI models trusted by top labs and Fortune 500 companies
  • Full autonomy — work remotely and asynchronously, on a schedule that works for you
  • Clear ownership — defined tasks with measurable outcomes, no ambiguity about what success looks like
  • Growth opportunity — top contributors take on expanded responsibilities and mentor incoming subject matter experts
  • Meaningful work — help ensure AI writes better, safer, and more reliable frontend code
