About the Role
HireArt is helping a global leader in AI development hire a talented MongoDB Administrator. You'll build and mature MongoDB-based database foundations supporting distributed systems, data-intensive applications, and machine learning infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Build and mature MongoDB-based database foundations — operations, platform lifecycle, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
- Work directly with engineering teams to create backend database solutions meeting data and security needs
- Build systems handling billions of documents with high availability
- Work with the security team on compliance, pen tests, and mitigations
Required Experience
- Design, installation, and configuration of multi-node MongoDB sharded clusters and replica sets on AWS EC2
- Adding/removing replica and shard nodes; identifying shard keys and ensuring even data distribution
- Converting non-sharded replica sets to sharded clusters
- Query planning, performance tuning, and Mongoose ODM
- MongoDump and MongoRestore
- Certificate-based x509 authentication and authorization
- Managing on-prem/self-hosted MongoDB instances
- Extensive knowledge of Mongo replication architecture and change streams

Offer Details
- Full-time W-2 contract via HireArt, evaluated for renewal every 6 months
- Remote, US-based candidates only (no visa sponsorship, no corp-to-corp)
- $65–72/hr, M-F 9AM–5PM PST
