Frequently asked questions

What does BLEND do?
Localization and language services: translation, website and software localization, video localization, subtitling and dubbing, voice-over, multilingual transcription and SEO, plus data enrichment for AI training, delivered through a network of around 25,000 domain experts.
Is BLEND still an independent company?
No. On 12 January 2026 BLEND merged with Tasq.ai, an AI model-training data company, and the combined business operates under the Tasq AI name. Yoav Ziv, formerly BLEND's CEO, leads it, with Tasq.ai founder Erez Moscovich as President. Localization remains a core pillar per the merger announcement.
What freelance work is available?
Through talents.getblend.com: translators, voice actors, linguistic experts, and content writers. Recent listings included multilingual voice-over across 27 language varieties, and medical transcript review for expert speakers of Tagalog, Chinese, Vietnamese, Hindi, and Spanish.
Is the qualification stage paid?
Not for voice-over work. Applicants complete a short unpaid sample before moving to paid production work. That is worth knowing, since unpaid qualification time is a recurring complaint in this industry and some competing platforms do pay for that stage.
What does BLEND pay freelancers?
Rates are not published for any role. Language work is generally priced per word, per audio minute, or per project depending on language pair and specialism, so agree your rate before starting. Some engagements are short and date-bound rather than continuous.
Can I work for BLEND from anywhere?
It depends on the role. Voice-over work lists no blanket location restriction, but the medical transcript review role requires a verified United States location and explicitly rejects applicants outside the US or its territories. Check each listing.
Is BLEND the same as Blend360?
No. Blend360 is a separate data and AI consultancy, unconnected to BLEND (getblend.com, formerly One Hour Translation), though the two appear in similar searches.
