Alignerr

Code Annotation Contractor
Remote (Global) $50 – $75/hr July 14, 2026

Job description

Data Infrastructure Developer (C++)

About the Role

What if your deep C++ expertise could directly shape the infrastructure that powers the world's most advanced AI systems? We're looking for a Senior C++ Full-Stack Engineer to build and optimize the high-performance data pipelines, annotation tooling, and evaluation systems that leading AI labs depend on every day.

This is a fully remote contract role with serious technical depth — real production systems, meaningful engineering challenges, and direct collaboration with top AI research teams.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 20–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and optimize high-performance C++ systems that power AI data pipelines and evaluation workflows
  • Develop full-stack tooling and backend services supporting large-scale data annotation, validation, and quality control
  • Improve reliability, performance, and safety across existing C++ codebases
  • Collaborate with data, research, and engineering teams to support model training and evaluation at scale
  • Identify bottlenecks and edge cases in data and system behavior — then implement scalable, production-ready fixes
  • Participate in synchronous design reviews to iterate on architecture and implementation decisions

Who You Are

  • Native or fluent English speaker with clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Full-stack developer with a strong systems programming background
  • 3–5+ years of professional experience writing production-grade C++
  • Deep expertise in efficient binary serialization formats
  • Hands-on experience implementing zero-copy data exchange protocols for high-speed pipelines
  • Able to commit 20–40 hours per week with reliability and professionalism

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality pipelines, or evaluation systems
  • Familiarity with AI/ML workflows, model training, or benchmarking infrastructure
  • Background in distributed systems or developer tooling

Why Join Us

  • Work directly with leading AI labs on real production systems — not toy projects
  • Fully remote and flexible — work from anywhere on a schedule that suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, high-stakes engineering work
  • Make a tangible impact on the infrastructure shaping the future of AI
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as projects scale
