About the Role
What if your years of advanced mathematical training could directly shape how AI reasons, solves problems, and thinks — for millions of people around the world? We're looking for Mathematics and Statistics experts to help fine-tune the next generation of large language models by designing rigorous problems, evaluating AI reasoning, and pushing the boundaries of what these systems can do.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for PhDs and advanced researchers. No AI background needed — just deep mathematical expertise and a sharp analytical mind.

What You'll Do
- Design advanced, multi-step math problems that rigorously test AI performance across areas like abstract reasoning, symbolic manipulation, and proof construction
- Develop clear, logically structured, step-by-step solutions to serve as gold-standard benchmarks
- Evaluate AI-generated outputs for mathematical accuracy, depth of reasoning, and solution quality
- Collaborate with researchers to refine and expand benchmarks spanning undergraduate through PhD-level mathematics
- Provide detailed, structured feedback that directly improves how leading AI models handle complex quantitative reasoning
Who You Are
- Currently pursuing or holding a PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field
- Strong mathematical reasoning across advanced domains — from analysis and algebra to probability and beyond
- Able to communicate complex ideas clearly and precisely in writing
- Detail-oriented and methodical — you notice when logic breaks down and you know how to fix it
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on an asynchronous schedule
- No prior AI or machine learning experience required
Nice to Have
- Experience with data annotation, evaluation systems, or quality assessment workflows
- Familiarity with AI tools or large language models as an end user
- Background spanning multiple mathematical disciplines — pure, applied, computational, or statistical
- Prior work in academic research, tutoring, or curriculum design
