About the Role
Mercor is seeking experienced Mechanical Engineering professionals to support a high-impact quality assurance and technical review initiative focused on improving engineering content quality and accuracy.
In this role, you will evaluate, validate, and improve mechanical engineering problems, solutions, and explanations across a variety of engineering disciplines. Your expertise will help ensure technical materials meet rigorous standards of correctness, clarity, and methodological soundness.
This is a flexible remote opportunity suitable for practicing engineers, researchers, educators, and recent graduates with strong mechanical engineering fundamentals.
Key Responsibilities
Review Technical Engineering Content
- Review mechanical engineering problems, solutions, and explanations
- Evaluate technical accuracy, completeness, and engineering rigor
- Verify calculations, methodologies, assumptions, and conclusions
- Ensure engineering content meets professional quality standards
Identify and Correct Errors
Detect and correct:
- Technical inaccuracies and calculation errors
- Ambiguous or incomplete explanations
- Methodological weaknesses and incorrect reasoning
Evaluate Across Multiple Engineering Domains
Review content in areas including:
- Statics, Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics
- Heat Transfer, Mechanics of Materials, Machine Design
- Engineering Analysis, Applied Mathematics, Engineering Fundamentals
Quality Assurance & Benchmarking
- Apply standardized evaluation criteria consistently
- Calibrate reviews against established quality benchmarks
- Maintain reliability and consistency across evaluations
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field
- Strong understanding of core mechanical engineering principles
- Ability to solve engineering problems from first principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and clear written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering
- Technical review, engineering tutoring, or academic grading experience
- Quality assurance or validation background
- Research experience in engineering disciplines
Contract and Payment Terms
