TSMG
Ground-truth data collection for AI and ML: field collection, GIS/mapping, automotive, and robotics testing for Fortune 500 clients. Recruits field + remote contributors globally.
What is TSMG?
TSMG describes itself as an "expert ground truth data collection partner" for AI and ML. It manages ground-data and AI/ML data-collection projects for large enterprises and Fortune 500 companies across several domains: field data collection, GIS and mobile mapping, automotive (connected-vehicle and mapping data), and robotics testing, plus related data annotation. "Ground truth" data is the real-world, human-verified reference data that AI and mapping systems are trained and validated against, for example driving routes, street-level imagery, points of interest, and sensor readings collected and checked by people on the ground. For workers, TSMG recruits two kinds of contributors: field data collectors, who physically collect data in a specific location (driving or walking routes, capturing imagery or GPS traces, verifying map features), and remote data and annotation contributors, who label, validate, and quality-check that data. Field roles are inherently location-specific; remote roles can be done from home. TSMG does not publicly document its founders, headquarters, headcount, founding year, or funding, so treat corporate details as unknown and confirm the specifics of any role and its pay directly.
Mission & values
Give AI, mapping, automotive, and robotics teams accurate, human-verified ground-truth data by managing field collection and annotation projects at global scale.
Qualifications
TSMG recruits per project against specific location, language, and skill requirements. The two common tracks are: (1) Field data collectors, who go to a defined area to collect real-world data, driving or walking predefined routes, capturing street-level imagery or GPS data, or verifying map features and points of interest on site. These require being physically in the target location, often a driver's license and a smartphone or provided equipment, and careful adherence to collection protocols. (2) Remote data and annotation contributors, who label, validate, and quality-check collected data (mapping/GIS, automotive, or general AI/ML datasets) from home. Local-language ability and area familiarity help for both. Work is project-based rather than a steady full-time schedule, so treat it as flexible or supplemental income, and confirm the exact rate, equipment, and expectations for each project before starting. Hiring process
-
1
Apply via tsmg.io or LinkedIn
Browse open field-collection and remote data/annotation projects and submit an application through the TSMG site or its LinkedIn page.
-
2
Eligibility and location check
Confirms your location (critical for field roles), language, equipment (driver's license, smartphone, or provided gear), and availability for the project.
About 5 days
-
3
Onboarding and protocol training
Training on the specific collection or annotation protocol, since usable ground-truth data depends on following the spec precisely (routes, capture standards, labeling rules).
About 5 days
-
4
Sample task and quality review
Submit initial collected data or annotations for quality review before being cleared for the full project.
About 7 days
-
5
Work the project and get paid
Complete the field or remote work on the project schedule. Payment terms and rate are set per project.
