What is Moniepoint?

Moniepoint is a Nigerian fintech that started life in 2015 as TeamApt, a bank-technology vendor licensing software to Nigerian banks. Under co-founders Tosin Eniolorunda (CEO) and Felix Ike, the company pivoted to serve businesses directly, launched the Moniepoint agent-banking network to bring financial services to underbanked Nigerian communities, and then extended into full business banking, payments processing, POS terminals, working-capital lending, and consumer banking. TeamApt rebranded to Moniepoint in 2023 to reflect the shift to a direct business-and-consumer brand. By late 2024 the platform served more than 2 million businesses and processed over $17B in transactions per month, making it one of the largest financial-services companies operating in Africa. Moniepoint closed a $110M Series C in October 2024 led by Development Partners International with participation from Google's Africa Investment Fund, Verod Capital, Lightrock, and others, which pushed the company to a $1B+ valuation and unicorn status. Total funding to date is approximately $180M across Series A through C. Headquarters remain in Lagos with a substantial London office and an active push into Kenya and other African markets. Roughly 2,500 employees work across those hubs plus a distributed footprint for engineering, product, data, and central corporate functions.

Mission & values

Bring reliable, affordable financial services to every African business and consumer, so anyone can build the life and the enterprise they want.

Qualifications

Moniepoint hires across engineering (backend, distributed systems, mobile, security, payments infrastructure, data platform), product, design, data science, risk and fraud, sales, agent-network operations, customer success, legal and compliance, marketing, and G&A. Application flow lives at moniepoint.com/careers. Roles split between hub-anchored positions (Lagos primarily, London secondarily, Kenya emerging) and distributed remote roles for select engineering, product, and data functions. Payments infrastructure, risk, fraud, and mobile engineering are the most active hiring areas given the scale of the transaction processing. Sponsorship and relocation support are available for senior engineering and leadership roles.
