Hive.co
Marketing platform for event promoters and creators: email, SMS, ads, and CRM built on ticketing and commerce data. Kitchener, Ontario. Y Combinator S14. Integrates with Ticketmaster and Shopify.
What is Hive.co?
Hive.co is a marketing-automation and audience-CRM platform built for event promoters, venues, festivals, and creators. It ingests customer data in real time from 25+ integrations including Ticketmaster, Shopify, Eventbrite, and DICE, then lets clients segment that audience and personalize and automate email, SMS, and paid-ad campaigns to sell out shows and grow repeat attendance. Hive was founded in 2014 and went through Y Combinator's Summer 2014 batch, originally launching under the name Ticketlabs before rebranding to Hive.co. Co-founders Ian Roberts (CEO) and Patrick Hannigan built the company around the insight that live-events businesses sit on rich first-party purchase data but rarely have the tooling to turn it into targeted marketing. The company is headquartered in Kitchener, Ontario (part of the Waterloo tech region) and runs a remote-friendly model with roughly 65 employees. Hive competes with broader marketing-automation suites like Mailchimp and Klaviyo but differentiates by going deep on the live-events and creator-economy niche, with native ticketing integrations and audience models tuned for show-by-show promotion.
Mission & values
Help event promoters and creators sell out their shows and build lasting audiences by turning ticketing and commerce data into personalized, automated marketing.
Qualifications
Hive hires across engineering (full-stack, backend, data, frontend, infrastructure), product, design, data analytics, sales, customer success, onboarding, marketing, and G&A. Application flow lives at hive.co/careers. The company is remote-friendly with a Kitchener, Ontario hub; many roles are open to remote candidates in Canada, with some roles extending to the US or requiring occasional hub presence. As a mid-size company (roughly 65 people), hires are highly leveraged and generalist-friendly, and candidates who understand the events, ticketing, or creator-economy space have an edge. Engineering roles center on the data-integration and campaign-automation platform.
