Aurelius Systems
Defense tech company building AI-powered directed energy laser systems for counter-drone defense.
What is Aurelius Systems?
Aurelius Systems is a defense technology company building AI-powered directed energy laser platforms to protect troops, bases, and critical infrastructure from unmanned aerial system (UAS) drone threats. Their flagship product, the Archimedes Laser Sentinel, is a lightweight, modular, and autonomous robotic turret that integrates advanced sensors, machine learning, and high-power fiber lasers to autonomously detect, track, and neutralize hostile drones within seconds — at the cost of electricity rather than expensive missiles. Aurelius also launched Aurelius Manufacturing, a domestic ITAR-compliant production line for high-power fiber laser sources to reduce reliance on foreign supply chains. Founded in 2024 by Michael LaFramboise (CEO) and John Marmaduke (CTO), Aurelius Systems is headquartered in San Francisco and has raised $12 million from General Catalyst, Draper Associates, Outlander VC, Decisive Point, and Detroit Venture Partners.
Mission & values
