During an incident, models love a tidy story: one root cause, a clean timeline, a confident containment plan. Real intrusions are messier, and a model that misreads a log or clears an attacker too early does real damage. Someone has to catch that, and that someone is you.
Models can describe an exploit chain in confident detail and miss that step three never actually works, the payload gets filtered, or the whole path assumes a misconfiguration no real target would have.
Models will hand you code that looks secure and quietly ships a hardcoded secret, a broken auth check, or an injection the linter never flags. Someone has to tell security theater from an actual defense, and that someone is you.
