Summary
The Data Scientist produces innovative, decision-driving insight from complex, high-dimensional behavioral datasets. In this role you act as the embedded DS partner to one or more product pods: sizing bets, designing experiments and holdouts, defining the metrics each pod is held to, and delivering trustworthy launch reads that leadership can act on. You'll join a team building an AI product that reimagines how advertisers create and manage their campaigns. Today, that work happens across some of the most complex interfaces in the industry; our ambition is technology that manages ads with AI on the advertiser's behalf. This is early-stage, ambiguous, high-leverage work — and an opportunity to build deeply transferable AI expertise in a domain where there is still a great deal to learn

Job Responsibilities
Partner with PM and Engineering on roadmap prioritization — sizing opportunities and bets up front rather than reacting to inbound query requests.
Design, stand up, and interpret A/B tests and holdout readouts; generate and test hypotheses and translate experiment results into clear product recommendations.
Own metric definition for your pods — including quality and trust metrics for AI-driven features — and resolve attribution and metric-definition questions as they arise.
Deliver trustworthy launch reads, including clearly distinguishing real effects from noise — especially during seasonal periods when advertiser behavior deviates most from the rest of the year.
Apply statistics, causal measurement, machine learning, and simulation — alongside modern AI tooling and LLMs — to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, and surface discoveries that lead to prototype development and product improvement.
Design, develop, and evaluate predictive and generative models, establishing the evaluation methods needed to judge AI output quality at scale.
Work with product engineers to translate prototypes into products, services, and features, and provide guidance for large-scale implementation.
Provide data visualization support — dashboards and ad-hoc analyses — and communicate findings through compelling data storytelling to audiences up to and including executives.

Minimum Requirements
Strong experimentation and causal-measurement fundamentals: A/B testing, holdout design, and metric definition.
Fluency in SQL and analytics on large behavioral datasets, plus data visualization and data storytelling.
Versatility and flexibility — comfortable shifting across pods, problem types, and levels of ambiguity.
Strong communication and storytelling skills, including experience presenting data to executives.
Judgment to operate as a roadmap partner rather than a reactive query-runner.

The pay range that Tundra in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $110/hour - $120/hour.
