Senior Machine Learning Expert (AI Training) About the Role What if your deep knowledge of machine learning could directly shape how the world's most advanced AI systems reason, plan, and make decisions?
Biochemist
Job description
Biochemist – AI Data Trainer
About the Role
Your deep expertise in biochemistry is exactly what the next generation of AI needs. We're partnering with the world's leading AI research labs to train and refine cutting-edge models on advanced scientific topics — and we need PhD-level biochemists to help us get it right.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role where your knowledge of protein folding, metabolic flux, enzyme kinetics, and molecular genetics directly shapes how AI reasons about life science. No AI background required — just rigorous scientific thinking and a passion for accuracy.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Design Advanced Problems: Create challenging biochemistry problems spanning nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, structural biology, and drug-target interactions to rigorously test AI performance.
- Author Ground-Truth Solutions: Write detailed, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for high-level scientific reasoning within AI systems.
- Audit AI Outputs: Evaluate AI-generated biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and mathematical proofs for technical accuracy, safety, and adherence to scientific standards.
- Refine AI Reasoning: Identify logical errors — such as incorrect stoichiometry, misunderstood stereochemistry, or flawed mechanistic reasoning — and provide structured feedback to improve AI thinking for life science tasks.
Who You Are
- Advanced Degree: PhD (completed or in final stages) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field.
- Domain Expert: Strong foundational knowledge in one or more core areas such as enzymology, structural biology, cellular metabolism, or bioinformatics.
- Clear Communicator: Able to explain highly technical biological and chemical concepts in precise, well-structured written form.
- Detail-Oriented: High level of precision when reviewing complex chemical equations, molecular diagrams, and experimental protocols.
- No prior AI experience required.
Nice to Have
- Experience with data annotation, quality evaluation, or scientific peer review
- Familiarity with computational biochemistry tools such as PyMOL, AlphaFold, or BLAST
- Background in science writing, teaching, or curriculum development
Why Join Us
