Job description
Mercor is building a benchmark dataset to evaluate AI models on professional document understanding and instruction following within the Business & Professional Services domain.
Contributors will create complex evaluation tasks based on real-world business materials including:
- Business plans
- Reports
- Presentations
- Workspace documents
- Web research
- Analytical workflows
Each task includes:
- A clearly defined objective
- Ground-truth outputs
- Objective evaluation criteria
- Detailed scoring rubrics
The goal is to evaluate how effectively AI systems can interpret business documents, follow detailed instructions, perform professional reasoning, and generate accurate business outputs.
Key Responsibilities
Create Benchmark Tasks
- Author complex, multi-step business reasoning tasks
- Build challenges grounded in real-world business documents and workflows
- Design tasks requiring:
- Document analysis
- Business reasoning
- Information synthesis

Develop Ground Truth Outputs
- Create correct reference answers
- Define objective success criteria
- Ensure outputs are measurable and verifiable
Create Evaluation Rubrics
- Develop detailed scoring frameworks

- Instruction adherence
Support AI Benchmark Development
- Help build benchmark datasets used to evaluate frontier AI systems
- Ensure tasks reflect realistic professional business environments
