Lilt
AI-powered translation platform combining human expertise with adaptive language technology for enterprise localization.
What is Lilt?
Lilt is an enterprise AI translation and localization company founded in 2015 by researchers who met while working on Google Translate at Stanford and Berkeley. Headquartered in San Francisco with offices in Berlin, Dublin, Indianapolis, Washington D.C., and London, Lilt combines human expertise with advanced AI to create adaptive language technologies that learn and evolve in real time. The platform supports over 100 languages and serves global enterprises and governments, enabling them to scale multilingual content production efficiently. Lilt's human-in-the-loop system pairs domain-specific AI models with a network of professional linguists to deliver brand-consistent localization, translation verification, and multilingual model development. The company offers roles such as AI Content Experts, linguists, translators, voice talents, and voice coaches across dozens of language pairs, with many positions being fully remote and freelance-based.
Mission & values
Modernize enterprise translation with adaptive AI plus a global linguist network — process content in 70+ languages with both human-in-the-loop and fully agentic translation.
Qualifications
For linguist and translator roles, candidates typically need native-level fluency in the target language and a strong command of English for guidelines and collaboration. A minimum of two years of translation experience and/or a degree in Linguistics or Translation is often required. For AI Content Expert roles, experience as a reviewer, annotator, or evaluator is preferred, along with the ability to analyze text, audio, and video content with high attention to detail. All roles require the ability to consistently follow detailed guidelines and provide clear, constructive feedback. Voice talent positions require a professional or home studio setup that meets technical quality standards. Specialized roles may require domain expertise in areas such as legal, medical, or technical fields. Familiarity with AI tools and machine translation is beneficial but not always required.
