Role Overview
Mercor is seeking experienced Certified Pharmacy Technicians (CPhTs) to support the development of next-generation clinical AI systems. In this fully remote contract role, you will help improve AI-powered prior authorization workflows by reviewing medication-related clinical content, evaluating AI-generated responses, and ensuring they meet high standards for clinical accuracy, safety, clarity, and completeness.
This opportunity is ideal for pharmacy technicians with strong experience in medication management, pharmacy operations, and prior authorization who are interested in contributing to healthcare AI.
Key Responsibilities
Review Clinical AI Responses
- Evaluate AI-generated responses for clinical accuracy, safety, clarity, completeness, and supporting evidence.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete responses.
- Provide structured annotations and detailed written feedback.
Answer Medication-Related Questions
- Respond to medication-related questions using patient context, reference materials, and labeling guidelines.
- Review topics including medication history, prior authorization, dosing, contraindications, drug interactions, and supporting clinical documentation.
- Ensure recommendations align with pharmacy best practices.
Support Quality and Patient Safety
- Identify and escalate cases involving insufficient evidence, conflicting guidance, unclear clinical context, or patient safety concerns.
- Apply project rubrics and quality standards consistently.
- Participate in calibration sessions and incorporate quality feedback.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or equivalent pharmacy technician experience.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Medications
- Prescriptions
- Pharmacy operations
- Prior authorization workflows
- Strong understanding of:
- Medication safety
- Drug interactions
- Pharmacy best practices
- Strong written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable following structured annotation guidelines.
- Available to work 30–40 hours per week during the project.
