Role Overview
Mercor is seeking Healthcare Experts (International Physicians) to help train next-generation AI systems by evaluating clinical reasoning and medical decision-making. In this fully remote hourly contract role, you will compare AI-generated responses to complex medical scenarios, assess their clinical accuracy, and provide structured feedback that improves AI performance in diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient care.
This opportunity is ideal for physicians with clinical experience who are passionate about evidence-based medicine and advancing healthcare AI.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate AI Clinical Responses
- Compare multiple AI-generated responses to the same medical prompt.
- Determine which response demonstrates stronger clinical reasoning and decision-making.
- Review the reasoning process provided by each AI model.
Assess Medical Quality
- Evaluate responses based on clinical accuracy, patient safety, evidence-based medicine, diagnostic reasoning, treatment recommendations, and overall quality of medical judgment.
Provide Expert Feedback
- Write clear explanations describing why one response is superior.
- Deliver structured feedback that helps improve AI model performance.
- Ensure evaluations reflect current clinical guidelines and best practices.
Collaborate with Research Teams
- Participate in onboarding sessions and specialty-specific calibration activities.
- Contribute to improving frontier AI systems for healthcare applications.
Required Qualifications
- MD, DO, or equivalent medical qualification.
- At least 2 years of professional clinical practice experience.
- Strong understanding of clinical reasoning, evidence-based medicine, and current clinical guidelines.
- Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience evaluating complex clinical cases.
- Interest in AI-assisted healthcare and medical research.
- Experience with medical education, peer review, or AI evaluation is beneficial.
Compensation
- $100 per hour
- Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise
Work Arrangement
- Fully remote

- Flexible schedule, approximately 10 to 20 hours per week
