Security Operations Analyst (AI Training)
About the Role
We're partnering with leading AI research labs to build the next generation of security-focused AI systems. As a Security Operations Analyst, you'll bring your real-world SOC experience to bear on a genuinely novel challenge: teaching AI how expert analysts think, triage, and respond to threats.
This isn't a traditional security role — it's a unique opportunity to sit at the intersection of cybersecurity and frontier AI, helping shape how AI systems reason through incidents, alerts, and investigations.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Analyze realistic SOC scenarios — incidents, alerts, and investigation workflows — and document expert reasoning
- Classify alert severity, determine root causes, and recommend appropriate response actions
- Review and evaluate AI-generated outputs to ensure they reflect how experienced analysts actually work
- Identify gaps in AI reasoning — false positives, missed signals, or flawed triage logic
- Provide structured, detailed feedback that helps AI systems mirror real-world security operations
- Work independently and asynchronously on task-based assignments
Who You Are
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in a SOC, incident response, or security operations role
- Familiar with SIEM platforms, alert triage workflows, and investigation methodologies
- Skilled at separating genuine threats from noise — you know what a real signal looks like
- Detail-oriented with strong written communication skills
- Able to articulate your analytical reasoning clearly and systematically
- No prior AI experience required — your security expertise is what matters
Nice to Have
- Experience with threat hunting, malware analysis, or digital forensics
- Familiarity with frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, or Kill Chain
- Exposure to cloud security, EDR platforms, or network detection tools
- Background in writing detection rules, playbooks, or runbooks
Why Join Us
- Work on frontier AI systems alongside top-tier research labs
- Fully remote and flexible — complete tasks on your own schedule
- Contribute to AI that could meaningfully improve how the security industry operates
- Autonomy, variety, and collaboration with a global team of experts
