Role Overview
Join a leading AI lab's cutting-edge Generative AI team and help build the next generation of Large Language Models (LLMs).
This opportunity is designed for experienced Insurance professionals with deep industry expertise and hands-on experience evaluating AI model outputs using structured rubrics. You will help improve the insurance reasoning capabilities of frontier AI models by designing realistic underwriting, claims, and risk assessment tasks, evaluating model responses, and developing high-quality evaluation frameworks based on real-world insurance practice.
This is a W-2 employment opportunity through Cincinnatus LLC, with placement at a leading AI laboratory as part of its extended workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Support AI Insurance Reasoning
- Help research and engineering teams improve AI reasoning across underwriting, claims, actuarial science, and risk assessment.
- Provide practical insurance expertise to improve model performance.
Design Insurance Evaluation Tasks
- Create challenging insurance scenarios based on real industry experience.
- Develop accurate, well-reasoned solutions reflecting real underwriting and claims workflows.
Evaluate AI Model Outputs
- Assess AI-generated responses using structured evaluation rubrics.
- Provide detailed written feedback on:
- Accuracy
- Insurance judgment
- Risk assessment
- Completeness
Develop Evaluation Guidelines
- Create and refine insurance-specific evaluation guidelines.
- Build scoring rubrics that improve consistency and quality across AI training datasets.
Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts
- Work alongside researchers, engineers, and fellow insurance experts to maintain high-quality evaluation standards.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of professional experience in insurance, including areas such as:
- Underwriting
- Claims
- Actuarial Science
- Risk Management
Experience at a recognized insurance organization such as:
- AIG
- Chubb
- Allstate
- Progressive
- MetLife
- Marsh McLennan
- Equivalent enterprise insurer
Prior hands-on experience evaluating LLM or AI model outputs using structured rubrics or scoring criteria (required).
Demonstrated career progression (for example: Underwriter → Senior Underwriter → VP of Underwriting).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities.
Available to work at least 35 hours per week during weekdays.
Compensation
- $60–$80 per hour
