What is Eclipse Labs?

Eclipse Labs is the company behind Eclipse, a blockchain marketed as "Ethereum's first SVM L2." Where most Ethereum Layer 2s focus on Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatibility, Eclipse instead uses the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) for execution to inherit Solana's performance, while settling on Ethereum for liquidity and security. It is a modular design: SVM execution, Ethereum settlement, Celestia for data availability, and RISC Zero for proving, pitched as combining "Solana's speed with Ethereum's liquidity." Eclipse Labs was founded in 2022 by Neel Somani, a former Citadel quant; Somani stepped away from the company in 2024, and Vijay Chetty, previously Head of Business Development and Growth at Uniswap and dYdX, became CEO. The engineering organization has included leaders such as David Lin (former VP of Engineering at Discreet Labs). Eclipse Labs hires across engineering (blockchain / protocol, distributed systems, Rust, cryptography, infrastructure, backend, frontend, data and ML), product, product design, developer relations, business development and growth, marketing, and operations. Protocol, Rust, and distributed-systems engineering are the core of the team given the product is a high-performance rollup; recent listings have also included product design and a data-science / LLM specialist role. The company is remote-first and hires globally with no geographic requirement, coordinating through triannual offsites. Compensation in crypto infrastructure typically pairs a competitive base with token and/or equity upside, so candidates should weigh the token component and vesting. Prior experience with the Solana or Ethereum stacks, Rust, or rollup/modular-blockchain internals is strongly prioritized.
