A reliable internet connection and a laptop or desktop computer are required, and Google Chrome (fresh installation without third-party extensions) is often needed for optimal performance. Some projects require passing a qualification assessment or language exam. Contributors must work from their registered state and country of residence and cannot work on projects when outside their residing country. For specialized roles, additional requirements apply: facial recognition annotator roles may require US or Canada residency, native English proficiency, and a background in arts, photography, or design; history prompt generation roles require an advanced degree in History and native-level English; linguistic roles require specific language proficiency.
