What is Clickworker?

Clickworker is a global crowdsourcing platform headquartered in Essen, Germany with a US office in New York City. The platform connects businesses with a distributed workforce of freelancers ("Clickworkers") to complete online microtasks — small jobs taking from under a minute to about 20 minutes. Tasks include data labeling and categorization (images, video, text), text creation and editing, surveys and research, content moderation, search relevance evaluation, transcription and subtitling, app/game/website testing, and photo/audio/video data collection. Clickworker is heavily involved in AI training, providing human-generated and validated datasets for machine learning models across speech, image recognition, and search evaluation. The company was acquired by LXT in December 2024 to expand AI data services. A mobile app (Android/iOS) is available for capturing photos, video, and audio on the go. Contributors work completely independently on their own schedules.

Mission & values

Power AI training data and digital workflows for global enterprises through a 6M+ freelance crowd across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.

Qualifications

Becoming a Clickworker is beginner-friendly and generally does not require formal qualifications. Basic requirements include internet access, a computer or smartphone, and basic English reading skills. To access specific task categories, contributors must complete assessments and qualification tests that vary based on location, age, skill level, and language abilities. The UHRS (Universal Human Relevance System) assessment is required for search engine and AI algorithm tasks. No degree is required, making it accessible to students, stay-at-home parents, and anyone seeking supplemental income. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow guidelines accurately are the most important skills across all task types.
