Job description

Network & Infrastructure Security Analyst (AI Training)

About the Role

Alignerr partners with the world's leading AI research teams and labs to build and train cutting-edge AI models. We're looking for hands-on infrastructure security practitioners to bring real-world expertise to frontier AI development.

In this role, you'll analyze, classify, and evaluate realistic enterprise security scenarios — helping AI systems learn how threats, controls, and failures actually behave in production environments. Your field experience doesn't just inform reports — it directly shapes how the next generation of AI understands cybersecurity.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze network, endpoint, and email security scenarios across modern enterprise stacks
  • Review firewall, EDR, and infrastructure security cases to determine what went wrong and why
  • Classify incidents, misconfigurations, and control failures based on real operational data
  • Create, label, and validate security training and evaluation datasets used to improve AI systems
  • Clearly articulate root causes, attack paths, and business impact in structured formats
  • Work independently and asynchronously on task-based assignments

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in network, infrastructure, or endpoint security roles
  • Solid familiarity with firewalls, EDR platforms, email security, IAM, SIEMs, and enterprise tooling
  • Strong understanding of how real organizations deploy and operate security controls
  • Ability to clearly explain complex security issues, root causes, and business impact to a technical audience
  • Detail-oriented with a systematic approach to analysis and documentation
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on flexible schedules

Nice to Have

  • Experience in SOC, incident response, threat hunting, or red/blue team operations
  • Familiarity with common frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, or CIS Controls
  • Background in security engineering, network architecture, or cloud security
  • Prior experience with AI, data labeling, or evaluation workflows

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI projects alongside top security and research teams
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule, on your own terms
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Make a meaningful impact — your real-world expertise helps AI get security right
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
