Civil Engineer – AI Career Guidance Evaluator

About the Role

What if your years of hands-on civil engineering experience could directly shape how AI guides the next generation of engineers? We're looking for experienced Civil Engineers in the Houston area to help train, evaluate, and improve next-generation AI career guidance systems — ensuring the advice they deliver is accurate, practical, and grounded in real industry knowledge.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. No AI background required — just deep professional expertise and strong written communication skills.

What You'll Do

  • Review career-related questions submitted by professionals at different stages of their engineering careers
  • Write high-quality "golden answers" that reflect expert-level career guidance within civil engineering
  • Create objective evaluation rubrics used to assess AI-generated career advice
  • Identify inaccurate, unrealistic, or incomplete recommendations generated by AI systems
  • Contribute your real-world industry knowledge to improve AI career coaching capabilities
  • Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Experienced practicing Civil Engineer with meaningful industry tenure
  • Strong understanding of engineering career progression, project delivery, and industry standards
  • Hands-on experience in infrastructure, transportation, structural, water resources, or construction projects
  • Excellent written communication skills — able to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely
  • Able to provide practical, actionable, and realistic career advice
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently to meet quality expectations

Nice to Have

  • PE (Professional Engineer) license
  • Project management experience (PMP or similar)
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or interns
  • Specialized engineering certifications (e.g., ENV SP, CCM, PMP)
  • Familiarity with Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) or energy-sector infrastructure projects
