About the Role

We're looking for experienced Civil Engineers in the Chicago metro area to review, evaluate, and improve AI-generated career guidance — ensuring it's grounded in real project experience and industry knowledge.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role open to practicing civil engineers across disciplines. No AI background required.

What You'll Do
- Review career-related questions from engineering professionals at different stages of their careers
- Write high-quality "golden answers" that reflect expert-level guidance within the civil engineering field
- Build objective evaluation rubrics used to assess AI-generated career advice
- Flag inaccurate, unrealistic, or incomplete career recommendations generated by AI systems
- Share your real-world project and industry knowledge to improve AI career coaching
- Work independently and asynchronously — entirely on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Experienced Civil Engineer with substantial industry tenure
- Solid understanding of engineering career paths, project delivery, and professional standards
- Background in infrastructure, transportation, structural, water resources, or construction
- Strong written communication skills — you can provide clear, actionable, practical advice
- Self-motivated and dependable when working independently
- No prior AI or technology experience required
Nice to Have
- PE (Professional Engineer) license — Illinois registration welcome
- Experience with IDOT, Chicago DOT, or regional infrastructure projects
- Project management credentials or experience overseeing project teams
- History of mentoring junior engineers or engineering graduates
- Specialized certifications in construction management, environmental engineering, or related disciplines
