Job description

Mercor is seeking experienced Medical Practitioners (MDs and DOs) to evaluate healthcare AI models in partnership with a leading AI laboratory.

This role focuses on assessing AI-generated outputs across diagnosis, clinical reasoning, patient care workflows, and medical decision-making.

Contributors will help improve the quality, safety, and reliability of next-generation healthcare AI systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate AI model outputs for:

    • Clinical accuracy
    • Patient safety
    • Alignment with medical standards

  • Assess:

    • Diagnoses
    • Clinical reasoning
    • Care recommendations

against expert medical judgment.

  • Provide structured feedback regarding:

    • Clarity
    • Safety
    • Clinical rigor

  • Identify and document AI failure modes that could compromise patient care or safety

  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers to improve model performance and evaluation frameworks

Ideal Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical practice experience
  • MD or DO degree from a recognized medical school
