Job description

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI lab to train frontier AI models using high-quality document generation and evaluation data.

This role seeks Office Document Evaluation Specialists who can assess and compare AI-generated office artifacts across Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

You will review downloadable office files, compare competing outputs, evaluate formatting and content quality, and help improve how AI systems create real-world business documents.

This opportunity is ideal for professionals who regularly work with:

including analysts, consultants, finance professionals, operations specialists, executive assistants, and administrative professionals.

What You'll Do

Evaluate Office Documents

  • Open and inspect generated office artifacts including:

    • Excel (.xlsx)
    • Word (.docx)
    • PowerPoint (.pptx)
  • Compare two candidate outputs side by side

  • Determine which response better satisfies the task requirements

Assess Document Quality

Evaluate:

  • Content accuracy
  • Formatting quality
  • Layout
  • Visual structure
  • Formula correctness
  • Charts and tables
  • Presentation quality
  • Rendering fidelity

AI Evaluation

  • Grade AI-generated outputs using structured rubrics
  • Provide written feedback used to improve future model performance
  • Participate in onboarding sessions and calibration exercises

Required Qualifications

Professional Experience

  • 3+ years of experience creating and reviewing business documents

Examples include:

Excel / Spreadsheets

  • Financial modeling
  • Data analysis

  • Advanced formulas
  • Conditional formatting
  • Chart creation

Word / Documents

  • Long-form document creation
  • Professional formatting

PowerPoint / Presentations

  • Slide design

  • Brand-compliant decks

Technical Skills

  • Strong familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to independently:
    • Open files
    • Review files
    • Inspect formatting
    • Evaluate presentation quality

Additional Requirements

  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to identify formatting inconsistencies and presentation issues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise across Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Experience creating:

    • Style guides
    • Documentation standards
  • Professional background in:

    • Executive support
  • Experience performing document QA and formatting reviews

Role Highlights

  • Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week
  • Preference for 40+ hours per week

Contract & Payment Terms
