Vulnerability Management Analyst
Job description
Vulnerability Management Analyst (AI Training)
About the Role
We're looking for experienced vulnerability management and security operations professionals to help evaluate and improve cutting-edge AI systems. Your real-world expertise — triaging CVEs, prioritizing risk, and driving remediation — will directly shape how AI understands and reasons about cybersecurity.
This is a unique opportunity to apply your hands-on security knowledge to one of the most impactful frontiers in technology: the development of intelligent AI systems that understand how defenders actually think.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Analyze vulnerability reports, CVEs, and exposure scenarios across infrastructure and application environments
- Evaluate severity, exploitability, business impact, and remediation strategies for realistic security scenarios
- Review and assess patching, mitigation, and risk prioritization decision-making workflows
- Generate, label, and validate security-reasoning data used to train and benchmark AI systems
- Apply your practitioner knowledge to ensure AI outputs reflect how security teams actually operate in production
Who You Are
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in vulnerability management, security operations, or infrastructure security
- Solid working knowledge of CVEs, vulnerability scanners, patching workflows, and risk prioritization frameworks (e.g., CVSS, EPSS, SSVC)
- You understand the real-world gap between theoretical risk scores and what actually needs to get fixed first
- Analytical, structured thinker who can articulate security reasoning clearly in writing
- Comfortable working independently and asynchronously on task-based assignments
Nice to Have
- Experience with tools like Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, or similar vulnerability management platforms
- Familiarity with cloud security, container environments, or application security
- Background in threat intelligence or exposure management programs
- No prior AI experience required — your security expertise is what matters
Why Join Us
- Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside world-leading research teams
- Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule
- Freelance autonomy with meaningful, intellectually stimulating work
- Contribute to AI that genuinely understands real-world security operations
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
