AI / Emerging Tech Security Analyst About the Role What if your security instincts could directly shape how the world's most advanced AI systems defend themselves against misuse, manipulation, and attack?
Vulnerability Management Analyst
Job description
Vulnerability Management Analyst (AI Training)
About the Role
We're partnering with the world's leading AI research labs to build smarter, more capable AI systems — and we need real security practitioners to help make it happen.
As a Vulnerability Management Analyst, you'll apply your hands-on experience with CVEs, exposure management, and remediation workflows to evaluate and improve how AI reasons about security risk. This isn't theoretical work — you'll be working with realistic scenarios drawn from the environments security teams actually operate in.
If you've spent time in the trenches prioritizing vulnerabilities and making tough remediation calls, your expertise has direct value here.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Analyze vulnerability reports, CVEs, and exposure scenarios across infrastructure and applications
- Evaluate severity, exploitability, impact, and remediation strategies with the same rigor you'd apply in a real SOC or security engineering role
- Review and assess patching, mitigation, and remediation decision-making scenarios for accuracy and completeness
- Generate, label, and validate realistic security-reasoning data used to train and benchmark AI systems
- Provide structured, expert feedback that directly influences how frontier AI models understand cybersecurity
Who You Are
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in vulnerability management, security operations, or infrastructure security
- Solid familiarity with CVEs, vulnerability scanners, patching workflows, and risk prioritization frameworks (e.g., CVSS, EPSS, SSVC)
- You understand the difference between theoretical risk scores and what actually needs to be fixed in production
- A clear, structured, and analytical thinker who communicates reasoning well in writing
- Self-directed and comfortable working asynchronously on task-based assignments
Nice to Have
- Experience with tools like Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, or Wiz
- Background in cloud security, endpoint security, or application security
- Familiarity with frameworks like NIST, CIS Controls, or MITRE ATT&CK
- Prior experience contributing to AI training, red teaming, or security research
Why Join Us
- Work directly on frontier AI systems with top research labs
- Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule
- Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
- Contribute to meaningful work that improves how AI understands real-world security
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
