Visual Storytelling Prompt Writer
Job description
Visual Storytelling Prompt Writer (AI Training)
About the Role
What if your love of film, your eye for composition, and your ability to put visuals into words could directly shape the future of AI-generated video? We're looking for Visual Storytelling Prompt Writers to watch video clips and translate what they see into rich, structured prompts — capturing mood, camera perspective, narrative, and style in a way that helps AI models understand and recreate the world on screen.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. No professional experience in film or AI required — just a sharp visual sense, strong descriptive writing skills, and a genuine passion for the craft of visual storytelling.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Watch video clips and craft structured prompts that capture the essence of each scene
- Describe characters, settings, camera angles, movement, lighting, and mood with precision
- Balance technical cinematographic detail with narrative and emotional context
- Produce multiple prompt variations when required to cover different interpretations
- Follow established style guides for wording, specificity, and point of view
- Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule
Who You Are
- A strong writer with a gift for visual clarity — you describe what you see, not what you hear
- Passionate about film, video, photography, or visual storytelling in any form
- Able to translate a single frame or scene into evocative, structured written language
- Detail-oriented and consistent when following prompt-writing guidelines and examples
- Comfortable working independently without supervision
- No professional experience required — your eye for visuals matters more than your CV
Nice to Have
- Background in filmmaking, screenwriting, photography, art direction, or visual arts
- Familiarity with cinematographic terms — shot types, camera movement, lighting setups
- Experience writing creative briefs, shot lists, or scene descriptions
- Prior exposure to AI image or video generation tools
- Interest in how AI models interpret and recreate visual content
Why Join Us
- Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs
- Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
- Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
- Contribute to AI development that is actively reshaping how machines see and understand the visual world
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
