Visual Storytelling Prompt Writer
Job description
Visual Storytelling Prompt Writer (AI Training)
About the Role
What if your eye for film, mood, and visual narrative could directly shape how AI understands and recreates the moving image? We're looking for Visual Storytelling Prompt Writers to watch video clips and translate what they see into structured, precise prompts — capturing everything from camera angles and lighting to emotion, pacing, and character.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. No professional experience required — just a sharp visual sensibility, a love of storytelling, and the ability to put what you see into words.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Watch video clips and craft structured prompts that capture the full visual story — mood, setting, character, and camera work
- Describe scenes with precision: shot types, perspective, lighting, pacing, and emotional tone
- Balance technical filmmaking detail with narrative and atmospheric context
- Produce multiple prompt variants for the same clip when required
- Follow detailed style guides for wording, specificity, and point of view
- Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Strong writer with a talent for translating visuals into vivid, structured language
- Passionate about film, video, photography, or visual storytelling in any form
- Able to describe what you see — not what characters say — with clarity and depth
- Detail-oriented and consistent when following prompt-writing guidelines
- Self-motivated and reliable when working independently
- No professional experience or AI background required
Nice to Have
- Background in filmmaking, screenwriting, cinematography, or media studies
- Experience writing creative briefs, shot descriptions, or visual treatments
- Familiarity with film terminology — shot sizes, camera movements, lighting setups
- Prior exposure to AI image or video generation tools
- Interest in how AI models interpret and recreate visual content
Why Join Us
- Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs
- Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
- Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
- Contribute to AI development that is actively reshaping how machines see and understand the world
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
