Video Annotation Specialist
Job description
Video Annotation Specialist (AI Training)
About the Role
What if your sharp eye for visual detail could directly shape how AI understands the world through video? We're looking for Video Annotation Specialists to segment, label, and describe video content that trains the next generation of AI models — helping machines learn to read scenes, recognize movement, and make sense of visual media the way humans do.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role open to anyone with strong attention to detail and an interest in visual media. No professional video or AI experience required — just a keen eye and a consistent, methodical approach.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Segment videos into individual shots and scenes with precision
- Annotate camera angles, shot sizes, movement types, and on-screen actions
- Apply labels and tags to video content using predefined category systems
- Flag ambiguous transitions, unclear shots, or content that doesn't fit standard categories
- Maintain consistent speed and accuracy across high-volume annotation tasks
- Complete task-based assignments independently on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Naturally sharp visual attention — you notice subtle differences others might miss
- Comfortable working in web-based labeling tools, spreadsheets, or similar platforms
- Able to stay focused and consistent across repetitive, detail-oriented tasks
- Interested in video, film, cinematography, or visual storytelling
- Self-motivated and reliable when working independently
- No professional video production or AI experience required
Nice to Have
- Background in film, photography, media production, or visual arts
- Experience with data entry, content tagging, or annotation tools
- Familiarity with basic video terminology — shot types, transitions, framing
- Prior exposure to AI training workflows or quality assurance tasks

- Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
