Project Manager, AI Operations
Job description
About the Role:
At Fetch, we're building AI and automation systems that make our work smarter, faster, and more scalable. The AI Operations team is the human power behind that mission — ensuring our AI models, automations, and LLM-powered workflows deliver quality, reliability, and measurable business impact.
As a Project Manager, AI Operations, you'll own complex projects and defined programs that support Fetch's AI and automation initiatives. You'll translate business objectives into operational plans, coordinate execution across teams, proactively manage risks and dependencies, and drive measurable outcomes within your area of responsibility.
You'll partner closely with stakeholders across AI Operations, Fetch Labs, Sales, Implementation, GTM, and SMaC (Scan, Match & Catalog) to ensure work remains aligned, scalable, and effective. This role is ideal for someone who excels at bringing structure to complex initiatives, improving operational processes, and driving results in fast-moving environments.
This is a full-time role that can be held from one of our US offices or remotely in the United States.
Role Responsibilities:
- Own complex projects and programs: Lead large-scale projects and defined programs across Fetch's AI and automation initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring deliverables, timelines, and success metrics are achieved.
- Translate business goals into execution plans: Convert established business priorities into actionable project plans, milestones, workflows, and operating processes.
- Drive AI evaluation programs: Shape and sequence a portfolio of evaluation work, setting priorities across projects and grounding program plans in a real understanding of the eval lifecycle.
- Set the bar for AI-native ways of working: Use AI and automation tools natively, and define how the team applies them to plan, coordinate, and communicate at program scale.
- Drive cross-functional execution: Coordinate stakeholders across multiple teams, manage dependencies, and ensure work progresses efficiently toward shared objectives.
- Manage risk and remove obstacles: Identify project and program risks, anticipate where evaluation efforts will strain on capacity, dependencies, or methodology maturity, and resolve issues before they affect delivery, quality, or outcomes.
- Improve operational effectiveness and consistency: Design and implement workflow improvements, SOPs, documentation, templates, and tracking mechanisms that make execution more efficient, scalable, and repeatable.
- Use data to guide decisions: Define and track project metrics, evaluate outcomes, and use insights to recommend improvements and inform execution decisions.
- Partner on AI-enabled solutions: Work with Automation Specialists, AI Operations leaders, and technical teams to identify opportunities where automation and AI can improve operational performance.
- Share expertise and support team development: Serve as a resource for Project Coordinators and Senior Project Coordinators by sharing knowledge, providing guidance, and reinforcing operational best practices.
Individuals Who Are Successful in This Role Are:
- Operational Leaders: You take ownership of complex projects and programs, ensuring successful outcomes while balancing competing priorities and constraints.
- Systems Thinkers: You understand how processes, teams, and dependencies connect, and proactively identify opportunities to improve how work gets done.
- Cross-Functional Collaborators: You build strong relationships across teams and effectively align stakeholders around shared goals.
- Data-Driven Problem Solvers: You use data, operational knowledge, and sound judgment to identify risks, evaluate tradeoffs, and improve outcomes.
- Trusted Experts: You are recognized as a reliable resource within your domain and help others navigate complex operational challenges.
- AI-Enabled Operators: You leverage AI tools and automation opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability.
Minimum Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience with a strong working understanding of how LLMs, evaluations, and AI systems function across a portfolio, enough to drive program strategy and navigate ambiguity independently.
- Native, day-to-day use of AI and automation tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, or similar platforms), and the ability to raise the team's fluency around them.
- Experience managing complex projects, programs, or operational initiatives with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, solve operational challenges, and make sound decisions independently.
- Proven track record of managing timelines, risks, priorities, and deliverables across cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively partner across teams.
- Proficiency with project management, reporting, and collaboration tools (e.g., Asana, Airtable, or similar platforms).

- Experience in AI, automation, technology, or operations-focused environments.
- Experience designing or improving workflows, processes, or operational systems.
- Experience partnering with technical teams, engineers, data scientists, or automation specialists.
- Project management certification (CAPM, PMP, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent).
