Role Overview

Mercor is hiring Telugu Music Experts to support a frontier generative-music AI lab. In this remote part-time role, you will apply your musical expertise and Telugu language skills to help train and improve advanced AI music systems.

The work focuses on analyzing and transcribing musical content, including identifying melodies, pitch, rhythm, tempo, key, time signature, and accurately understanding Telugu sung lyrics.

Key Responsibilities

Musical Analysis & Transcription

  • Listen to music and accurately transcribe melodies by ear.
  • Identify:
    • Pitch
    • Rhythm
    • Tempo
    • Key
    • Time signature
  • Analyze musical structures and patterns.

Telugu Lyrics Evaluation

  • Review Telugu sung lyrics with high accuracy.
  • Recognize:
    • Accents
    • Pronunciation variations
    • Less-clear vocal delivery
    • Language-specific nuances

AI Music Evaluation

  • Help evaluate and improve generative music AI outputs.
  • Provide expert feedback on musical quality and accuracy.
  • Support the creation of reliable training data.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Formal musical training or professional music experience.
  • Experience as one or more of the following:
    • Musician
    • Composer
    • Music transcriber
    • Audio engineer
    • Music teacher
  • Strong musical ear with the ability to identify melody, pitch, and rhythm accurately.
  • Fluent Telugu language skills for lyric evaluation.
