Role Overview

Mercor is hiring Croatian Music Experts to support a frontier generative-music AI lab. In this remote contract role, you will use your musical expertise and Croatian language skills to evaluate and improve AI-generated music systems.

This role is ideal for musicians, composers, transcribers, audio engineers, music teachers, or other professionals with strong musical training and a highly developed ear for pitch, rhythm, harmony, and vocal interpretation.

Key Responsibilities

Musical Evaluation & Transcription

  • Evaluate AI-generated music outputs in Croatian.
  • Transcribe melodies by ear with accurate pitch and rhythm.
  • Identify musical elements including:
    • Key
    • Tempo
    • Time signature
    • Melody structure
    • Rhythm patterns

Lyrics & Vocal Analysis

  • Review Croatian sung lyrics for accuracy and clarity.
  • Understand lyrics despite accents, pronunciation differences, or unclear vocal delivery.
  • Assess vocal quality, musical expression, and alignment between lyrics and audio.

AI Music Quality Assessment

  • Provide expert feedback to improve generative music models.
  • Apply musical judgment to evaluate AI-generated compositions.
  • Help create high-quality training data for music AI systems.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Formal musical training or professional music experience.
  • Background as a:
    • Musician
    • Composer
    • Music Transcriber
    • Audio Engineer
    • Music Teacher
  • Strong ability to identify pitch, rhythm, tempo, and musical structure.
  • Strong Croatian language fluency for accurate lyric evaluation.
  • Excellent listening skills and attention to musical detail.

Compensation
