Job description
Mercor is recruiting UK-based Investment Banking M&A Specialists to support a frontier AI research project. This role is designed for experienced investment banking professionals who have worked on mergers and acquisitions, valuation, financial modeling, and transaction execution. Your expertise will help train next-generation AI systems by creating, reviewing, and evaluating realistic M&A and corporate finance scenarios.
Key Responsibilities
Create & Evaluate M&A Scenarios
- Develop and review realistic investment banking and M&A case studies.
- Evaluate AI-generated financial analyses and transaction recommendations.
- Assess valuation methodologies, deal structures, and strategic decisions.
Apply Corporate Finance Expertise
- Analyze financial statements and valuation outputs.
- Review mergers and acquisitions workflows.
- Evaluate due diligence findings and transaction materials.
- Interpret complex financial information and provide clear recommendations.
Support AI Training
- Produce high-quality training data for frontier AI systems.
- Help establish evaluation standards for financial reasoning and M&A analysis.
- Collaborate with researchers to improve AI performance in corporate finance tasks.
Ideal Qualifications
- Based in the United Kingdom with the right to work in the UK.
- Strong professional background in investment banking and mergers & acquisitions.
- Experience working at a leading global investment bank is highly preferred, including:
- Goldman Sachs
- Morgan Stanley
- J.P. Morgan
- Or another top-tier investment bank with a strong M&A practice.
