Role Overview

Mercor is seeking Legal Experts to evaluate AI-generated responses related to employment law, labor disputes, and workplace investigations. The role focuses on assessing correctness, legal reasoning quality, and client-readiness of model outputs in realistic legal scenarios.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate two AI-generated responses for the same legal prompt side-by-side
  • Assess outputs for legal accuracy, reasoning quality, client-readiness, and alignment with real-world legal standards
  • Provide structured written feedback to improve model performance
  • Participate in onboarding calibration and alignment sessions
  • Contribute to improving legal reasoning capabilities of AI systems

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience in employment or labor law
  • JD (U.S.) or LLB/LLM from an accredited law school
  • Active or inactive U.S. bar license
  • Strong legal research, writing, and case law analysis skills

Engagement Details

  • Flexible workload: 6–15 hours per week — immediate start, rolling applications
  • Fully remote, part-time contract role
  • Open to US, Canada, and UK-based candidates

Compensation & Payment

  • $100–$150/hour — weekly payments via Stripe or Wise
