Job description

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI organization to engage attorneys and legal professionals for a project focused on improving the legal reasoning capabilities of AI systems in energy and real property law.

This flexible, contract-based opportunity involves reviewing, annotating, and refining legal content derived from documents such as leases, easements, conveyances, deeds, and interconnection agreements to improve the quality and accuracy of AI-generated legal analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and annotate energy and real-property legal documents according to detailed project guidelines

  • Provide citation-backed determinations supported by:

    • Document references
    • Page references
    • Verbatim supporting text
    • Clear legal reasoning

  • Apply consistent legal judgment across large document sets

  • Identify ambiguities and escalate complex matters when appropriate

  • Quality-check the work of other reviewers (senior contributors)

  • Help resolve reviewer disagreements and maintain quality standards

  • Collaborate with researchers to improve AI model performance

Ideal Qualifications

Attorney-Level Candidates

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school
  • Active U.S. bar license in good standing
