Job Summary

As a Privacy Annotation Specialist, you will apply your legal technology, eDiscovery, compliance, and privacy expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your primary responsibility will be reviewing and annotating sensitive legal documents to identify personally identifiable information (PII), confidential content, and privacy-sensitive data while ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and information governance.

This role is ideal for professionals with backgrounds in legal document review, privacy operations, litigation support, information governance, compliance, and eDiscovery who are interested in contributing domain expertise to AI development projects.

No prior AI experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

Privacy & Document Annotation

  • Review and annotate sensitive legal documents
  • Identify personally identifiable information (PII)
  • Detect confidential and protected information
  • Classify privacy-sensitive content according to project guidelines
  • Maintain high annotation accuracy and consistency

Contract Review & eDiscovery Support

  • Apply contract review expertise to document analysis
  • Leverage eDiscovery knowledge to identify relevant legal information
  • Support legal investigation workflows through accurate document assessment
  • Review legal records and litigation-related materials

OCR Validation & Data Integrity

  • Validate Optical Character Recognition (OCR) outputs
  • Confirm extracted text accuracy
  • Identify OCR errors and inconsistencies
  • Ensure document integrity throughout annotation workflows

Compliance & Information Governance

  • Collaborate with legal technology and compliance teams
  • Ensure adherence to privacy and information governance standards
  • Support regulatory compliance requirements
  • Maintain confidentiality throughout all project activities

Quality Assurance

  • Perform quality checks on completed annotations
  • Conduct audits of document batches
  • Identify annotation inconsistencies
  • Ensure project standards are consistently met

Required Qualifications

Strong experience in contract review, eDiscovery, compliance operations, quality assurance, legal document review, litigation support, managed legal services, and information governance.

Deep understanding of PII, data privacy principles, privacy compliance requirements, confidential information handling, and sensitive data management.

Ideal candidates: Paralegal, eDiscovery Specialist, Privacy Analyst, Information Governance Specialist, Compliance Manager, or Legal Document Review Lead.

Previous experience at Consilio, Epiq, Relativity, KLDiscovery, or TransPerfect is a plus.
