Role Overview
Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research laboratory to improve next-generation artificial intelligence systems focused on end-to-end healthcare revenue cycle transformation.
This role is designed for senior revenue cycle executives (VP, Senior Director, or equivalent RCM finance leaders) who bring deep operational and strategic expertise across hospital and physician revenue cycle ecosystems.
You will evaluate AI-generated revenue cycle strategies, financial performance analyses, and workflow automation outputs to ensure they are realistic, executable, and aligned with real-world healthcare finance operations.
Responsibilities
Executive Revenue Cycle Leadership
- Provide strategic oversight across the full revenue cycle lifecycle: patient access, coding and CDI, billing and claims, denials management, A/R and collections
- Evaluate AI-generated revenue cycle optimization strategies, financial performance assessments, operational improvement plans, and automation recommendations
Strategic Financial Oversight
- Define and monitor enterprise-level KPIs: net collection rate, days in A/R, denial rate, cost to collect, cash performance metrics
- Assess financial feasibility and accuracy of AI-generated recommendations
Payer & Contracting Strategy
- Oversee managed care contracting strategy and payer relationship optimization
- Evaluate AI outputs related to reimbursement strategy and payer negotiation scenarios
- Identify revenue leakage risks and reimbursement optimization opportunities
Operational Transformation
- Develop and evaluate large-scale revenue cycle transformation initiatives
- Assess automation opportunities across end-to-end RCM workflows
- Align revenue cycle performance with organizational financial goals
AI Evaluation & Annotation
- Review AI-generated revenue cycle outputs for strategic correctness, operational feasibility, financial accuracy, and alignment with healthcare industry standards
- Provide structured feedback to improve AI training datasets
Executive Communication
- Prepare and evaluate materials for executive leadership teams, board presentations, and investor reporting
- Synthesize complex operational and financial data into actionable insights
Requirements
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive revenue cycle leadership experience
- Minimum 5 years in executive leadership roles (VP Revenue Cycle, Senior Director Revenue Cycle, or equivalent)
Core Expertise
- End-to-end revenue cycle operations (front, mid, and back-end)
- Healthcare financial performance management
- Managed care contracting and payer strategy
- Revenue integrity and optimization initiatives
- Large-scale healthcare operational transformation
Financial & Analytical Skills
- Strong P&L and financial management experience
- Ability to interpret and validate complex financial models
- Expertise in KPI design and enterprise performance tracking
Technical & Systems Experience
- Familiarity with enterprise EHR and RCM systems (Epic, Cerner, etc.)
- Experience with revenue cycle analytics platforms
- Exposure to large-scale RCM transformation or EHR implementation projects
Preferred Qualifications
- FHFMA, CHFP, CRCR, or equivalent certifications
- Experience in PE-backed healthcare organizations or large health systems
- Multi-entity or multi-site revenue cycle consolidation experience
- Familiarity with AI-assisted revenue cycle optimization tools
