Role Overview
Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research laboratory to improve next-generation AI systems used in patient financial services, self-pay collections, and healthcare revenue cycle operations.
The organization is seeking experienced Patient Financial Services Leaders to evaluate and improve AI tools designed to enhance patient financial engagement, optimize self-pay revenue recovery, and improve payment plan management workflows.
Responsibilities
Patient Financial Services Leadership
- Lead patient collections and self-pay operations across the revenue cycle
- Oversee early-out collections, bad debt management, patient payment plan administration, and self-pay account resolution
AI Evaluation & Quality Review
- Evaluate AI-generated patient financial communications, payment plan recommendations, self-pay resolution strategies, and collection workflow recommendations
- Assess outputs for accuracy, compliance, patient experience impact, and revenue recovery effectiveness
- Annotate AI outputs and provide structured feedback to support AI training datasets
Self-Pay Strategy Development
- Design and implement collection strategies for pre-service, point-of-service, and post-service collections
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with FDCPA requirements, HIPAA regulations, and state collection laws
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Patient Financial Services, Patient Collections, or Self-Pay Revenue Cycle Operations
- Minimum 2 years in a leadership role
- Deep knowledge of self-pay collection workflows, early-out collections, and bad debt recovery
- Strong understanding of FDCPA requirements and HIPAA regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- CRCR, CHAM, or similar revenue cycle certification
- Experience with digital patient payment platforms or propensity-to-pay analytics
